Research was done on kids habits of instant messaging and the effects it had on their normal or traditional way of reading and writing. Kids that instant messaged wrote less than kids that did not instant message. A good point was made about how instant messaging is just like writing normal words but leaving out vowels and just using letters that make sounds similar to the words they are tying to write. Technology has given the use for more opportunities involving text messaging and instant messaging.

The effects technology has on younger kids is described in this article. Research was conducted to determine if younger kids were impacted and exactly how they were impacted. The outcome was to find out how technology effected academic achievement in the designated age groups. I will use this information in putting together a side of how kids are impacted (positively or negatively) by technology.

Web. This article describes the changes being made by students, due to computers and other technological advances. Not all of these changes are for the better. For example, rather than reading a book, students will rely on sparknotes, instead. Are these technological advances that are being introduced to the classroom being made for positive or negative? This is the question that this article deals with and that makes the reader asks themselves

This article is all about how students who are "distance learners" meaning that they do not participate in a face-to-face classroom setting, are using social networking to help connect in a disconnected world. It talks about how although they are not having peer contact in the traditional classroom, they can still get different opinions and socially apply themselves in an otherwise isolated environment.

The article is about the role change libraries have faced going from a place where many get information to what it is now. This change has partially been brought on by computers, which libraries use to deliver its information. Some who prefer how it was claim that it is incovienitent while the library professionals foresee a hybrid that will bring in components of traditional print media and electronic media.
